Movement toward something greater, something more. Direction arising from the smallest hint of a breeze, creating strong yet peaceful motion, rooted by a singular form. A tribute to earthly beauty and an appreciation of the imaginative. These modern landscapes are the latest series in my exploration of emotional perception and boundless imagination as it relates to our environments and to our souls. My use of concentric circles and their countless symbolic connotations as the geometric object for placement evokes feelings of completion and serenity for the viewer. Particularly the relationship between the quiet and graceful palette of the backgrounds and the dynamic energy of the foregrounds, reminding us of the complexities of our natural spaces and the endless opportunities for discovery and interpretation. These elements, along with the inspiring idea that so much more escapes us, compels my work. Every day of my childhood was spent learning and appreciating the outdoors, sunny skies and stormy weather.
